You spend almost half a day at your workplace, sitting at your desk, staring at your computer for very long hours. Such monotony can bring various health risks, especially to women. You might experience a sudden increase in weight, higher stress levels and anxiety, prolonged back and neck pains, eye strain etc. These health issues are bound to happen if you do not take corrective measures to avoid them. So here are some easy things you can do.

Control your diet

Your colleague will share a bag of chips with you which will surely add those extra calories into your hips. If you keep it out of sight, it will be out of mind and hence do not keep any candy or snacks around your work desk. If you do get hungry, have an apple, some cherries or grapes or even a nutria-bar. Obesity is a growing problem among young corporate workers and hence many of them now focus on healthy eating. Your office will most probably have many who are dieting, so get together and ditch the candy bowls while bringing on the fruit and salad bowls. It is also vital that you drink an adequate amount of water; 8 to 10 glasses every day. You can also stay hydrated by having fruits such as watermelon, oranges and apples.

Do adequate exercise

Many people nowadays make it a point to hit the gym at least three times a week. However, if you do not have time for that, you need to incorporate some sort of physical activity into your daily routine.  Taking a walk during lunch is a great idea to burn calories and also reduce stress.  Sitting in one place for long hours can cause back, neck and even vulvar aches. Of course you will make it a point to buy a cushion for vulvar pain, however walking around could actually help. Also, take the stairs instead of the elevator; park your car farther away than usual so that you can take a quick walk every morning and evening.

Avoid long stretches of long days

Most of you are experts in procrastination. You will keep all work to be done at the last moment and this will make you spend long days at office during the last few days of the project. Your posture pole will not be able to save you from all the aches and pains that are in store for you. To avoid such problems, start your work early, divide them accordingly and set short term targets so that you won’t have to rush at the end of the project.
